Our Bees Have Arrived!

As promised here’s the next episode in our beekeeping journey.

Last weekend we received a swarm from a local beekeeper and we now have a colony of bees making their home in one of our hives.

We’ve removed the two supers (the two boxes at the top) leaving the bees to focus on setting up home in the brood box.

All this is just in time for World Bee Day designated by the UN as the 20th May each year – today.

As pollinators bees are super important to all our lives so it’s great to be supporting this vital part of our ecosystem.
